Your contribution is tax-creditable
Your financial participation in the democratic process can be partially deducted from your payable federal tax. Here are some examples of tax credits you could receive:

Your donations are federal political contributions and are subject to the limits set out in the Canada Elections Act. Only individuals who are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents are eligible to make federal political contributions. The annual limit for contributions to the Liberal Party of Canada is $1,100. The annual limit for donations to the combined Liberal entities of Electoral District Associations, Nomination Contestants and Candidate campaigns is $1,100. Receipts for income tax purposes will be issued for eligible contribution amounts.
